– The First Valentine film,
– The opportunity to make Valentines greetings for loved ones
LOVE, LOVE, LOVEāauthentic Christianity is all about love!
In celebration of Godās holy martyr, Valentine, we will be showing the short film āThe First Valentineā during fellowship hour. This is a dramatic production of the life of the Saint which is appropriate for Christians of all ages. St. Valentine had the kind of love known as āagape.ā This is love that is sacrificial and a modeling of the kind of love God has for us. St. Valentineās life exemplified the Scripture verse, āGreater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends,ā John 15:13
Today we’ll provide craft materials so that those of you who wish can make heart-felt Valentine greetings for others. Most people think of Valentine greetings as āmushy,ā but thatās only a shade of what the greeting can express. The goal of preparing a genuine Valentine greeting is to find a good word for someone from the heart. A Valentine can be a beautiful note of appreciation or of recognition of someoneās influence in your life. Valentine greetings can be made by anyoneāchildren or adults, male or femaleāitās not just a āfeminineā thing. Itās a creative expression that is a gift from one heart to another. So, on February 9, think about who you might want to bless with a creative expression of Christian love.
