The Keene Interfaith Clergy and the Martin Luther King Jr./Jonathan Daniels Committee will co-sponsor the third annual Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast Monday, Jan. 20, at 8 a.m. in Hellenic Hall of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 70 West St.
In the tradition of many communities across the country, participants will celebrate the life and spirit of King and encourage people to talk about — and act on — his mission of peace, justice, diversity and nonviolence. Guest speaker Ron Buford is a nationally recognized preacher and church leader who helped envision programs within the United Church of Christ. There will also be a responsive reading adapted from King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, and members of the King/Daniels Committee will speak.
Cost for the breakfast is $10; $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at the United Church of Christ in Keene, Toadstool Bookshop and at the door. Information: 352-4136.
The public is welcome.
